New Year’s Silent Yoga & Meditation Retreat: Presence, Intention & Renewal

This retreat is full.

Friday December 29th, 2017 – Monday January 1st, 2018

Join Monique for a 4-day (3 night) silent yoga and meditation retreat at Zazen’s beautiful, secluded retreat center in Mendocino. This retreat will include 3 sessions per day, including: yin yoga, mindful flow, meditation and dharma talk. There will be free time each afternoon for self-reflection. Three nourishing, organic vegetarian meals will be provided daily. For an extended retreat (just a few miles away) are the healing waters of Orr Hot Springs and the beautiful Montgomery State Redwood Forest.

Entering the New Year in silence can be a profound way to renew ourselves physically, emotionally and spiritually. Our daily practices will focus on deepening presence in our lives, and clarifying intentions as we enter the New Year.

All levels of yoga practice are welcome. Some meditation experience is preferred, but not required. To allow time for connection, we will enter silence together after the evening session on Friday, until after the morning session on New Years day.

To enter the unspeakable requires a quiet courage that points to what is often out of reach, though it is never far from us. By entering that silence, the unspeakable shows itself as the thread of light that holds the web of life together.  -Mark Nepo

Monique’s yoga classes are held with a therapeutic intention. Her work as a Somatic (body-oriented) therapist naturally informs the language and sequencing of the practice. She believes that yoga is an opportunity to listen deeply to the natural intelligence of our bodies, and learn to inhabit ourselves in new ways. Through this more integrated place, we discover authenticity in being and expression. Monique completed her 500-hour teacher training at Yoga Tree in San Francisco, and mentored privately for several years with Dina Amsterdam (founder of InnerYoga). Monique also has a private psychotherapy practice at Zazen, where she is enjoying deepening the Somatic work with her clients.
